Join The Relief Squad!
Sound Child Care Solutions is always seeking people to join our "Relief Squad". Teachers, cooks, floaters, and administrators work on an on-call basis in our child care and school-age programs for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years.
If you are passionate about the field of early childhood education, interested in becoming part of a community of learners, are professional and reliable, and possess the skills to work as a member of a team, please submit your resume. The Relief Squad can lead to permanent positions or supplement your current work or school life. The Relief Squad also offers its members opportunities for ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities:
- 1) Work on an on-call basis at any of six preschool/child care centers.
- 2) Work in coordination with teachers to provide high quality child care for children age 6 weeks to 12 years.
- 3) Plan, set up, implement, and cleanup activities that support children's development in cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
- 4) Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development.
- 5) Build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
- 6) Use positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- 7) Provide culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities and interactions with children.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1) AA or BA in early childhood education, elementary education, or related degree.
- 2) Current certificates in First Aid/CPR/HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens and a current food handler's permit.
- 3) Negative TB Test.
- 4) At least 1 year work experience in early childhood education.
- 5) Experience with Creative Curriculum.
- 6) Experience with cultural relevancy and anti-bias practices.
- 7) Experience working in a multicultural environment with a variety of ethnic and cultura groups.
- 8) Ability to speak Spanish, Somali, Chinese, Vietnamese, Sign Language or other languages.
Required Qualifications:
- 1) Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- 2) Have a working knowledge of child development.
- 3) Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- 4) Demonstrate proven initiative and accountability.
- 5) Have a flexible schedule.
